PROJECT ACTIVITIES

AME’s strong network in East Africa are presenting many opportunities in Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, and Sudan.  Accruing from AME’s significant in-country mining industry experience and exceptionally good understanding and working knowledge of local resource projects, current activities are focused on Ethiopia.

Ethiopia

AME has been awarded an Exploration Licence for a potash concession in the Danakil Depression.

AME has tendered its formal bid to acquire the Kenticha lithium – tantalum pegmatite deposit and mine.  AME has completed extensive due diligence of the Kenticha mine, and discussions with both Federal and State authorities for the purchase of the mine are ongoing.

AME is at an advanced stage of discussion with an Ethiopian mining company for the joint development of a significant gold project in the Adola Belt.

Rwanda

AME are in the process of entering into a joint venture arrangement with the current owners of a mining licence to explore and develop the lithium-bearing pegmatite bodies that the mining licence covers.

WORLD CLASS AFRICAN PROJECT EXPERIENCE

AME has a substantial record in major project development in Africa and has been responsible for originating and sponsoring projects, with over US$1.5 billion invested to date.  Some of the world class projects that AME’s principals and shareholders have sponsored, funded, or procured financing for include
Tasiast Gold Project, Mauritania

Identified, acquired, explored, developed and put into production by members of AME. Today it is a world-class gold project that is owned and operated by Kinross Gold Corporation, with a gold inventory of some 20 million ounces.

Mbalam‐Nabeba Iron Ore Project, Cameroon

Identified, acquired and funded this world class iron ore project. With the recent increase in the iron ore price, it is now poised for development.

East Africa Gold, Tanzania

Acquired and arranged the funding of a large gold exploration portfolio.

Waterberg Coal Project, South Africa

Acquired and funded the development an export thermal coal and power platform; including funding of a definitive feasibility study for its development. This project has the potential to be world class from its 3.4 billion tonne coal resource.

Boikarabelo Coal Mine, South Africa

Acquired and developed an export thermal coal and power platform.

LEADERSHIP TEAM

AME has considerable experience investing in and managing natural resources companies across the African continent. Collectively, the AME team have over 100 years’ experience in investing, developing and managing resource projects on the African continent. 
Mr Bruce Tinney

Mr Tinney, a geologist by profession, has over 25 years broad investment and asset management experience in the resources sector.

Between 2011 and 2015 he managed a substantial Ethiopian gold exploration business where he had on-going engagement with the Ethiopian government.

Mr Stephen Miller

Mr Miller has 30 years’ experience in mining & energy, corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions.

Since 1996 he has been an active investor in the African resources sector, originating and executing significant transactions in African countries such as Tanzania, Mauritania, Cameroon & South Africa.

Mr Charles Abrahams

A lawyer by profession, Mr Abrahams has previously worked with the Ethiopian government on attracting funding from overseas agencies for its various initiatives.

With a strong human rights track record, he is frequently invited to address international conferences on matters pertaining to human rights law.

Mr Rob McKenzie

Mr McKenzie has over 35 years’ experience in the corporate, commercial and insolvency areas of law, including terms as Partner at Clayton Utz and Jackson McDonald.

He is a member of the Australian Takeovers Panel and is a director at Keystart Loans and Black Swan State Theatre Company.

Mr Vincenzo Falbo

An executive with extensive leadership experience in wealth and asset management, retail, brokerage and investment banking; with commercial management experience in Europe and U.S. as well as developing markets of Latin America and Middle East.

Mr Falbo has extensive relationship experience with regulators, third party service providers, financial institutions and sovereign wealth funds.

Dr Mathews Phosa

Dr Phosa was elected as the first Premier of Mpumalanga Province in 1994 and went on to serve as Treasurer General of the African National Congress from 2007 to 2012.

A lawyer by profession, Mr Phosa consults for various local and international businesses, he is also on the board of several prominent South African organisations.
