African Mining & Energy is focussed on creating a portfolio of precious and battery metals projects projects across Africa.
The African Mining & Energy team have been working in and around Eastern Africa for the last decade and more particularly in the north-eastern region along the highly prospective Arabian Nubian Shield. This culminated in the team setting up in Addis Ababa and forging relationships with key stakeholders in order to pursue gold and base metals opportunities in Ethiopia.
African Mining & Energy has always been focused on acquiring projects in and around the Arabian Nubian Shield which could be considered appropriate in order to lead the Company to fast track its status as a producer in the East Africa region, in a relatively short period of time.
As a result of the Company’s work in Ethiopia, the Company has been carrying out work, negotiations and detailed due diligence on certain assets-opportunities in the Adola which sits along the Arabian Nubian Shield.
As a result of the team’s significant African mining industry experience and exceptionally good understanding and working knowledge of local resource projects in Ethiopia, the Company has entered into a joint venture agreement for two major Ethiopian mining projects.
Through AME’s strong network in Africa, the team is actively generating new opportunities in East Africa that would feed into the Company’s project pipeline. These opportunities will allow AME to continue to grow its diversified portfolio of mining assets in Africa.
KENTICHA PROJECT
The Kenticha Project is a lithium-tantalum mine and deposit with lithium resource of 67.4 million tonnes at 0.73% lithium oxide.
ADOLA BELT EXPLORATION PROJECTS
Historically this area has been the subject of comprehensive studies involving geological mapping, reconnaissance mineral exploration, prospecting and detail exploration for primary and placer gold and rare earth elements deposits. This work produced geological, geochemical and geomorphological maps of the area and discovered several metallic and non-metallic mineral deposits and shows. The Lega Dembi primary gold deposit was the major discovery, but other discoveries included the Megado-Serdo and Dawa-Digati (Okote) gold anomalies.
more recently, a high resolution detailed airborne electromagnetic, magnetic and spectrometry survey was carried out by CGG on behalf of the Geological Survey of Ethiopia over the Adola area. The goal of the survey was to provide information on the geology and structure of the Adola area for the purposes of mineral exploration and geological mapping.
AME has made application for certain EL’s along this area of mineralisation and is presently in joint venture discussions with certain parties with respect to forming mining joint ventures on the more advanced areas.
HASSAI CIL PROJECT
AME has been carrying out work, negotiations and preliminary due diligence on certain assets-opportunities in Sudan.
This resulted in the Company entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ariab Mining Company on the 8th of September 2021 with respect to the Hassai Project. Since that date, the Company has completed legal, technical and other due diligence required to exercise the Option.
The Hassai Project is located in the Red Sea Hills desert, in north-eastern Sudan. The Hassai Project has been in operation since 1992 and has produced in excess of 2.3 million ounces of gold to date.
